Final Project - Self-Design New Media Work

 Final Project time!

So for my final project, I have multiple pieces of 2D things interacting with 3D things. It started out simple with drawing jackets onto people mainly just to get the hang of this project. Doing this has helped me figure out what type of program I want to work with and how I would like to style the further pieces. I started out with Whatsapp's and Gallery's drawing tool, but then I ended up using a drawing app -IBIS Paint - for almost the rest of the pieces. After I got situated to the drawing app, I started adding more to the pictures, specifically just revamping people into 2D characters. I made sure to choose images with 2 people so both a 2D character and 3D person can interact in some sort of way. 2 out of the 3 have the figures overlapping in some way; the third is just the two spending time within the same vicinity. Finally, I made more pieces that changed the setting to a 2D setting. This was the goal of my project. However the pieces weren't executed in a way I'd like, mainly because I would've like for the people to interact with the background when taking these photos. Either way, the pieces came out nice in my opinion; I just had to make the backgrounds accommodate to the persons in each picture. I made sure to make these not be too similar as the jacket pictures and the characters interacting  pictures were.

    I love your project, it's so darn cute!! I thought the progression and experimentation were very easy to see in your work and presentation. I totally agree with what Johnie said in class, I think you were developing a really distinct style with this project (and ngl I'm a little sad you're not going to do more, they're so good). I don't really have any criticisms or other feedback, I just wanted you to know I really like your art :)

This is a picture of a wall from the place I work. It's one of the very few spots that have no merchandise on it. This wall shows it consisting of mostly brick and a cement base. However, despite the appearance, it's not real brick. I honestly don't know what it is; I just know it's hollow. I chose to take this picture since I spend a good amount of time at my work, so I might as well get some homework done while I'm there. Also, seeing it so empty made it feel like it was a neutral enough background for me to include in this post. Would I work with this background for an installation? Your Project Proposal Blog Post & Presentation

 I have a couple of ideas for potential art installations. 1.      An installation based on the game Overcooked. It's a cooking game where you need to put out as many orders as possible; it has various foods to cook, many levels to play through, and is somewhat story -based. For this, I'd want to 3-D print some Overcooked characters and have them scattered throughout the place. I could use cardboard to recreate the Overcooked sign and/or cut out some background objects that are in the game. I would also set up the game in the background. What I would want to be the center of attention is food. I would want to make some food that would also be made in the game as well. I want to make this an interactive installation where people can play the game and eat food too. This installation would be set up in the Gaming House lobby. *Draft* Final Project - Self-Designed New Media Work

 One of the projects I would like to do is some sort of animation. I would like to tie this in with my Advanced Drawing class assignment since I plan on doing a somewhat animation for that. I would be starting these projects around the same time but ending the Advanced Drawing project earlier than this final project, so instead of dropping it, I can continue it in this class. I would draw out 3 seconds worth of animation on the sketchpads provided for us from that class, and then continue the animation on a software. I don't think I will actually get through a whole song, but I anticipate at least getting a part of a song animated. Some songs on my mind are the bridge + ending for Taylor Swift's Now That We Don't Talk , the chorus for Marina and the Diamond's Froot , or some part of an Olivia Rodrigo song (not sure which song of hers).  Another project I had in mind was combining 2D and 3D things in a photo.
