Final Project - Self-Design New Media Work

Final Project time! So for my final project, I have multiple pieces of 2D things interacting with 3D things. It started out simple with drawing jackets onto people mainly just to get the hang of this project. Doing this has helped me figure out what type of program I want to work with and how I would like to style the further pieces. I started out with Whatsapp's and Gallery's drawing tool, but then I ended up using a drawing app -IBIS Paint - for almost the rest of the pieces. After I got situated to the drawing app, I started adding more to the pictures, specifically just revamping people into 2D characters. I made sure to choose images with 2 people so both a 2D character and 3D person can interact in some sort of way. 2 out of the 3 have the figures overlapping in some way; the third is just the two spending time within the same vicinity. Finally, I made more pieces that changed the setting to a 2D setting. This was the goal of my project. However the pieces weren't ex...

Project No. 3 - More Real Than The Real Thing Research Report

Who I Chose + Thesis      Dolly Parton pushed country music forward for women in country with her lyrics and feminine persona. In her early years, she’s utilized her outfits and attractions outside of music to contribute to this forward thinking in this field. She has done this by discussing “controversial” feminine topics in her music despite the [time] not being in favor of them.  I chose to present Dolly Parton since her name has stood the test of time. Dolly Parton is recognized and admired by many - both fans and respected big names. Her music and her presence continues to follow her after 65 years in the music industry. Her songs such as “I Will Always Love You”, “9 to 5”, and “Jolene” stay being her biggest hits and have recently been transformed for modern day audiences to enjoy her music. About Dolly Parton      Dolly Parton has been exposed to the music world since she was a child, but she got her foot in the door around 13 years old...

Project Update No. 2

My update for this project is that it's started! This project is very simple, so I'm hoping to do as much of it as possible. I ended up choosing to do 2D and in real life characters/objects interact. My plan for this is to take as many pictures as possible and draw over some things in the pictures to make it seem like 2D and 3D exist in the same world. I have 4 pictures worked on so far: 2 simple ones and 2 more explored ones (for lack of better words). For the 2 simple ones, I added red jackets over people and outlines the wrinkles in the jackets. These pictures were mainly to test if I had the skills to execute this project and see what I would feel better working with. The other 2 pictures are ones that have some legitimate progress and some extra additions outside of just adding things over people. The pictures aren't finished yet, but at least they're started. I will admit that I'm not at a point where I would hope to be in my progress but at least these pictur...
